OVERVIEW

This 3rd International Symposium on Neglected Influenza Viruses will retain the format, and build on the success of the first two symposiums held in Florida in 2010 and Dublin in 2013.This conference will explore the latest data on surveillance and disease investigation, virus transmission and control, clinical and experimental virology, and emerging issues and new developments related to swine, equine, canine and other nonhuman/nonavian influenza viruses.

Science 'Speed Dating' and an expert panel discussion on news, views, and funding Neglected Influenza Viruses from government and industry representatives

Goals and Objectives

To promote a transdisciplinary, coordinated 'One Health' approach to the control of influenza by integrating the scientific input from public health, veterinary health, environmental health, and basic science. 

  • To share knowledge of swine, equine, canine and marine mammal and nonhuman/nonavian influenza viruses across continents and disciplines.
  • To promote interaction among scientists interested in nonhuman/nonavian influenza viruses whose work may not regularly receive international attention.
  • To explore the exploitation of data relating to the prevention, diagnosis, surveillance and control of influenza viruses in the protection of human and animal health.
